Nutella banana bread

Banana bread with Nutella. ‘Nuff said.

XO, km

THE DISH:

Nutella banana bread | one loaf

THE STUFF:

  • 2 1/4 cups AP flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt

  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/3 cup plain yogurt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup Nutella

  • 1 very ripe banana, halved lengthwise (optional)

THE HOW-TO:

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease (or line with parchment paper) a standard loaf pan.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In another large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, eggs, yogurt and vanilla. Stir the dry ingredients into the banana bowl just until everything is combined.

Spread half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Dollop half the Nutella and then use a toothpick or the tip of a knife to spread the Nutella. Spoon the rest of the batter on top and then repeat the process with the remainder of the Nutella. If using, lay the final banana on top, cut side up, and gently push into the batter. The bananas on my loaf started out in the middle!

Transfer to the oven and bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about 70 minutes.
